Deleted scenes from the 1993 movie Super Mario Bros., a live active version of Nintendo’s popular arcade game, hit the web recently after the scene was discovered on a VHS tape.
The tape, which belonged to a producer of the movie, features an extended rough cut of the movie.
The deleted scenes were discovered last May after the tape was purchased on eBay by YouTube channel, The Super Mario Bros. The Movie Archive. The collective shared one of these deleted scenes that takes place place in the beginning of the film that shows the Mario brothers arriving at a jobsite, only to realize that a rival plumbing company was already on the scene.
In the scene, we see the Mario brothers engage in combative banter with the Scapelli plumbers, including one point where a plumber reaches for Mario’s belt, only to have his hand slapped away with the phrase, “Nobody touches my tools.”
