The International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO) is accepting applications and seeking technical experts to participate in a task group relating to slip resistance.
The scope of the Slip-Resistance Task Group is to review the applicability of various slip-resistant surfaces. Also, research will be conducted to determine if additional applicable standards are available for the purpose of developing public comments for technical committee consideration.
Task group members will participate via conference call or web meeting, provide their perspective on the code, and assist in drafting recommendations for action by the Uniform Swimming Pool, Spa and Hot Tub Code (USPSHTC) Technical Committee. Applicants are not required to be members of the USPSHTC Technical Committee.
Those interested in participating in the Slip-Resistance Task Group can apply on the IAPMO website. The deadline to apply is Aug. 31.
Developed and subsequently republished at the conclusion of each three-year code cycle, the Uniform Codes are designed to provide consumers with safe plumbing, heating, and mechanical systems while, at the same time, allowing latitude for innovation and new technologies.
