The Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) honored Josam Co. President and CEO B. Scott Holloway with the Past President’s Award for Lifetime Achievement at the 2019 AGC Annual Convention this April. AGC Board of Governors member Mark Knight stated the following when presenting the award to Holloway:
"The purpose of the Past President’s Award for Lifetime Achievement is to honor an AGC member who has demonstrated, over an extended period of time, extraordinary commitment to AGC and the construction industry. The award goes to an individual who has committed significant time and energy to AGC and made significant contributions to our association’s success.
"So it is very appropriate that this year’s winner of the Past Presidents’ Award for lifetime achievement is Scott Holloway. Scott’s enthusiasm for the construction industry and for AGC are larger than life. He has always looked for ways to do more, and is blessed with an endless reservoir of energy and enthusiasm that he shares with the AGC family.
"He decides what he wants to accomplish and keeps after goals until he achieves his goals. He is a terrific family man with his lovely wife Karen who has been by his side for so many of his AGC endeavors.
"He was running an international manufacturing company while volunteering his time at his chapter the General Building Contractors of Pennsylvania. And then he decided to add more to his already busy schedule by volunteering to be a leader in AGC’s political action committee. With the PAC he was more interested in raising the money and meeting goals than where the money was spent, but when we asked him to serve on the PAC Board of Trustees and as a PAC representative for his chapter, he of course jumped in with both feet. He is being recognized by the PAC this year for being a 535 Club member for 25 years.
"Scott has served on the board and as an officer of his chapter. He served as chair of the Service & Supply Council from 2002 to 2004. During that period he also served on AGC’s board of directors. He is member emeritus of the Service & Supply Council Exec Committee. Scott became an AGC life governor in 2010. He also served on the AGC Strategic Plan Implementation Team (SPIT) - 2001-2004.
"He is also active with the AGC Education and Research Foundation. He joined the foundation board in 2008. Scott is now the treasurer of the Education and Research Foundation. He has chaired the foundation’s development committee for a long time. He and Rick Brown were some of the key forces behind the development of the Bill Ratz Golf Tournament. He and his family have two endowed scholarships."
