Porter Pipe & Supply is proud to announce that team member Santina Gearhart has been named Marklund’s 2018 Hero of the Year.

A veteran member of the Porter Pipe team, Gearhart is a longtime volunteer with Marklund, a charity organization dedicated to helping individuals with profound disabilities. She has spent the past several years providing dedicated service at Marklund’s resale store and contributes each year to the charity’s annual golf classic.

“Marklund is near and dear to all of our hearts here at Porter Pipe," said Gearhart. "The work they do to help children and adults with disabilities and on the Autism spectrum is an incredible mission that all of us embrace and believe in. It’s a joy to serve and help them in every way I can. And I’m humbled to receive recognition for something that I feel is not only a privilege but a responsibility we all have to give back to our community.”

Gearhart was honored with the 2018 Hero of the Year award at Marklund’s Volunteer Recognition Luncheon, hosted on April 13 at St. Andrews Golf & Country Club. Porter Pipe President Bud Porter was present to congratulate Gearhart for her accomplishment and for representing the company and its values outside of the job.
