ICC Assessment Center Receives ANSI Accreditation
April 15, 2019
The International Code Council Assessment Center received the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) accreditation for Residential Building Inspector (B1) and Commercial Building Inspector (B2) certifications. Accreditation is the hallmark of a quality certification program, and ANSI accreditation is recognized globally.
“The ANSI accreditation reflects the Code Council’s commitment to pursue the highest possible standard,” said Code Council Chief Executive Officer Dominic Sims, CBO. “This mark of distinction demonstrates the Code Council has the necessary competencies and has undergone a rigorous accreditation process. Accredited certification programs are essential to maintaining public health and safety, which is at the core of the Code Council’s mission.”
The process used by ANSI to accredit certification bodies is based on an international standard (ISO/IEC 17011) and represents the best practices in accreditation. The accreditation of the Code Council certification program provides additional validity to all stakeholders, governmental bodies and other users.
“The Code Council is proud to receive the ANSI accreditation,” said Code Council Board President William R. Bryant, MCP, CBO. “We provide the professional development services for the building safety industry, and this recognition is an acknowledgment of our exceptional products and services.”
The Code Council’s certification programs incorporate the association’s technical expertise and knowledge of the International Codes, the most widely used and adopted set of building safety codes in the world.
