Haws is pleased to announce that Quality and Compliance Manager Melanie Mayer has been recognized by EHS Daily Advisor for Young Safety Professional Excellence.  

Mayer has led many efforts to enhance safety and quality programs at Haws. Such activities include managing safety and quality teams, ensuring that safety standards and practices are communicated and adhered to by all employees regardless of their title, developing a LEAN Manufacturing internal training program, and driving the SHARP (Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program) certification.

Mayer demonstrates a commitment to safety on all fronts and has completed Six Sigma Green Belt and Black Belt certifications. She has also completed a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and is pursuing a master’s degree in environmental health and safety.

“Personally, Melanie is thoughtful and direct and commits to action. She upholds company values and strives for her personal best in all situations and continues to impress me with her performance,” said Stephanie Kilroy, Haws executive vice president.

Awards will be presented at the sixth annual Safety Summit in Austin, Texas, April 8-10.
