During the sixth annual Design and Construction Week in Las Vegas, the International Code Council (ICC) and the ICC Evaluation Service (ICC-ES) established new industry partnerships, fortified existing relationships, and joined design and construction professionals from around the world. As major sponsors and exhibitors at the 2019 National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) International Builders’ Show (IBS) and the National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA) Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS), the Code Council and ICC-ES sponsored educational events about housing market forecasts, building innovation and the latest trends in the manufacturing sector.
“As a testament to our mission to create safe buildings and resilient communities, we are always grateful for the opportunity to network and collaborate with our partners in the home building community,” said Code Council Board President William R. Bryant, MCP, CBO. “Tackling the issues that arise during important events such as Design and Construction Week helps us to continue developing codes and standards that result in the highest level of building safety in the world.”
Code Council staff and board members met with industry leaders from NAHB, NKBA and other organizations throughout the week to discuss workforce initiatives, the impacts of rising material costs and tariffs, and much more. In addition, many manufacturers took advantage of the opportunity to meet with ICC-ES personnel and applied for product listing and evaluation services at the ICC-ES exhibit booths. For the third consecutive year, ICC-ES sponsored the Metrostudy Housing Outlook Breakfast, where professionals gathered to discuss the latest economic and industry trends.
