T&S Brass has been named a 2018 IndustryWeek Best Plant. It is the company’s second time winning the prestigious award in four years.
The IndustryWeek Best Plants Awards program recognizes North American plants that are on the leading edge of efforts to increase competitiveness, enhance customer satisfaction, and create stimulating and rewarding work environments.
“Our commitment to excellence, in both what we make and how we make it, has been the lifeblood of T&S for more than 70 years,” said Claude Theisen, T&S Brass president and CEO. “We’re proud to again be recognized as a Best Plant and will continue our dedication to keeping T&S a world leader in quality manufacturing for years to come.”
In the application for the award, T&S reported on several components of its commitment to world-class manufacturing, including a 98 percent customer retention rate, a record of more than 1.2 million working hours without a lost-time accident and an average employee tenure of nearly 14 years.
Best Plant award criteria include extensive employee involvement and empowerment programs, a strong customer focus, a commitment to quality control and continuous improvement, and management practices that cultivate breakthroughs in performance and customer satisfaction.
The award’s months-long selection process included an application and questionnaire, an evaluation from a team of manufacturing experts, and a site visit.
Best Plants winners will be recognized at an awards ceremony in April 2019.
T&S was previously named a 2014 IndustryWeek Best Plants winner.
