The International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials has extended the deadline for volunteers wishing to participate on the technical committee working toward the development of the 2021 edition of the Uniform Swimming Pool, Spa and Hot Tub Code. The deadline to submit an application is now Feb. 28.
The USPSHTC Technical Committee seeks applicants in the following categories: Manufacturer, User, Installer/Maintainer, Labor, Research/Standards/Testing Laboratory, Enforcing Authority, and Consumer. This committee is assembled in accordance with the Regulations Governing Consensus Development of the USPSHTC and the Guide for the Conduct of Participants in the IAPMO Codes and Standards Development Process. These documents may be viewed at IAPMO’s Code Development Web page. Within them, prospective technical committee participants will find information on the scope and general guidelines for conduct of these committees.
IAPMO first adopted the USPSHTC in September 1976. The provisions of this code apply to the erection, installation, alteration, repair, relocation, replacement, addition to, use, or maintenance of swimming pool, spa and hot tub systems. This code is produced using a consensus process accredited by ANSI and will be self-designated as an American National Standard upon completion, as IAPMO is an ANSI Audited Designator.
Anyone interested in serving on this committee can complete the application online here.
