“Front-Row Leadership” motivational speaker and author Marilyn Sherman will give the keynote address at the 2019 Water Quality Association Convention & Exposition, April 23 to 25, in Las Vegas. Sherman will headline the convention’s Opening General Session on April 24 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
“Marilyn teaches people to let go of obstacles and live with courage, commitment and confidence,” said WQA Executive Director Pauli Undesser. “Her motivational message dovetails perfectly with our convention theme of ‘Solutions.’ Industry leaders will be inspired by her words and example.”
After starting her career in corporate America, Sherman is now seen as the go-to motivational keynote speaker for corporations and associations that want their people to improve their morale, teamwork, and communication skills and ultimately achieve more results.
She is the author of four books and recently was inducted to the National Speakers Association’s CPAE Hall of Fame. Her newest book on goal setting — "Is There a Hole in Your Bucket List?" — will be available for purchase at the WQA Central booth on the trade show floor, where Sherman will autograph copies and interact with attendees throughout the day.
For more than 40 years, the WQA Convention and Exposition has been the signature event of the water treatment industry. Education sessions are offered on all three days, including insights from the 2019 Consumer Opinion Study, a look at trending legislative topics, and updates on the latest research in water quality. The exposition on April 24 and 25 offers opportunities to learn about the latest products and services in drinking water treatment.
For the second year in a row, WQA’s Business Boot Camp will be offered alongside the convention. Aimed primarily at dealers, Boot Camp is an intensive one-day workshop in all aspects of running a water treatment business, this year focusing on finances, human resources and leadership. Boot Camp will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on April 26 at the Wynn Las Vegas Resort.
Advance convention pricing is offered for those who register by Feb. 20, 2019, at the newly redesigned website, wqa.org/convention. Boot Camp registration is available for an additional cost, as is registration for the Water Quality Research Council Run for Research 5K, which will take place along the Las Vegas Strip on April 25.
WQA members receive a discount on registration and sponsorship opportunities, and new WQA members are eligible for free convention registration their first year of membership. Membership information is at wqa.org/membership.
