Milwaukee Valve extends its congratulations to Prairie du Sac, Wisconsin (Sauk Prairie), home of the company's manufacturing facility. The National U.S. Navy Aircraft Carrier Month Committee has named Prairie du Sac as Aircraft Carrier Town USA 2018. Milwaukee Valve can be found on every U.S. Navy vessel built since 1964, and, in Prairie du Sac, every valve the company builds for the U.S. Navy is cast, machined, assembled and tested prior to delivery.
In addition to winning the online vote, Prairie du Sac was selected because of the community enthusiasm and engagement demonstrated to become Aircraft Carrier Town USA 2018. The town went all out to earn the title, from rallying local schools, restaurants and companies to posting on social media with #ProudCarrierTown. These efforts attracted local media coverage from The Sauk Prairie Eagle and Star News.
More important than the recognition, Milwaukee Valve identified Sauk Prairie High School as the designated beneficiary of a grant to support vocational programs. Milwaukee Valve chose the cause because of the company's involvement with the high school, which includes bringing students to its facility to educate them on the many facets of manufacturing, including research, development and product engineering. The National Aircraft Carrier Month Committee contributed $2,500, which was matched by Milwaukee Valve. This provided Sauk Prairie High School with a total award of $5,000.
Milwaukee Valve would like to thank all who voted for the hard-working town of Prairie du Sac, including its employees for the hard work and pride that they put into their jobs every day.
