The Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 562 plans to break ground Nov. 9 on a 79,000-square-foot training facility in Earth City, Missouri.

“We are truly excited the members chose to help pay for this state-of-the-art training facility,” Local 562 Business Manager John O’Mara said in a statement. “It not only shows their commitment to our community but will ensure that future members will have the best training possible in the industry.”

The training center is on five acres adjacent to the Local’s headquarters.

The training center for the union’s 4,500 members and 400 apprentices will have 50 welding booths and multiple technology-equipped classrooms for continuing education classes.

Construction is slated to be completed in 14 months.
