Shapiro & Duncan has created a record number of professional and career growth opportunities as its staff members of various levels continue to pursue degrees, apprenticeships and licenses to advance their education and expertise.
This milestone is demonstrative of the company’s ongoing commitment to nurturing the education and success of its employees - professionally, academically, and personally- as key elements of its business and corporate culture.
This year alone, Shapiro & Duncan has seen nine of its apprentices graduate, with another 19 staff members earning their journeyman licenses. Additionally:
The company consistently brings a new stream of apprentices, whether they are high school students, young adults separating from the military, or adults pursuing a career change- into the fold alongside a journeyperson mentor.
For those interested in pursuing their Journeyman licenses, Shapiro & Duncan offers training and mentorship courses regularly, and covers the costs of the applicable licenses and certifications to encourage employees to realize these opportunities for advancement. Shapiro & Duncan also provides tuition reimbursement for those employees enrolled in higher education programs to offer their steadfast support throughout the journey.
“At a time when the mechanical engineering industry is facing a talent shortage, it is more important than ever for us to continue to further our commitment to education, mentorship, and support.” said Sheldon Shapiro, CEO of Shapiro & Duncan. “Our people are at the center of everything we do. It is critical for us to nurture their educational and grow their career paths. This helps us achieve lasting success and closes the ‘knowledge gap’ – all while bringing an even greater expertise to our clients.”
