Ravinia Plumbing, located in Highland Park, Illinois and serving all of Chicago’s North Shore area, recently celebrated its 90th year in business.
“Ninety years is a long time,” said David Ariano, president of Ravinia, “and we’ve witnessed a lot of changes, but we love what we do. We aren’t going anywhere.”
Ravinia Plumbing was originally founded in 1928 by Arnold Peterson, who moved to Highland Park from Minnesota. In the late-1940s, a Highland Park resident and general contractor by the name of Joseph (Joe) Ariano joined Peterson, bringing with him years of experience and knowledge. Many of the 200 homes Ariano built around the area are still standing today.
The business was operated out of Peterson’s brother-in-law’s hardware store until 1955, when it moved to a brand-new building on Roger Williams Avenue.
Unfortunately, during that same year, Peterson passed away, leaving Joe to take over the business. He was joined by his son Don in 1959, and in 1994, Don’s son David joined the company to represent the third generation of the Ariano family dedicated to providing excellent customer care and service to North Shore homeowners.
Ravinia recently earned the Best Plumber in North Shore award, provided by 22nd Century Media’s North Shore Choice Awards, for the second year in a row. Ravinia also recently earned its eighth Super Service Award from Angie’s List, and has won the President’s Award from Carrier Corp five times.
According to Ariano, these awards are incredibly gratifying since they are the result of customers’ votes. Ravinia customers continually rank the products and services they receive very highly, and that makes the company the most trusted name in the North Shore area when it comes to plumbing, HVAC and electrical service.
The company strives to provide family-oriented service from technicians that homeowners can trust, and they believe this is why their customers are routinely satisfied with the services they receive.
