F.W. Webb Co. added three Water Works division locations in New York. The Rochester, Latham and Black River locations, inventory and equipment were acquired from Vellano Corp., a family-owned water works supply business, through bankruptcy proceedings. This further expands the division's presence in New York.
"We are committed to investing in our Water Works business and becoming a leader in this space," said Jeff Pope, F.W. Webb president. "It is a natural extension of our business, which already supplies everything water and pipe related, and offers customers the convenience of a one-source supplier."
As part of an interim arrangement with Vellano Corp., F.W. Webb had been leasing and operating out of the three New York locations before the purchase agreement was finalized. During this time, F.W. Webb hired many of the seasoned and knowledgeable associates from these Vellano Corp. sites.
"We are excited that the transfer of assets is final and we now have a permanent presence," said Bob Mucciarone, F.W. Webb chief operating officer. "As a $1 billion company with an extensive inventory and customized solutions, we look forward to offering Vellano customers the quality customer service and expertise they would expect from a water works supplier."
F.W. Webb first entered water works in 2016, with the acquisition of Water Works Supply Corp., a Massachusetts company with 60 years of experience in the industry. Since then, the F.W. Webb Water Works division has grown to 15 locations across the Northeast. In addition to providing a full line of underground and flanged PVF, hydrants and valves, the division offers a UL-certified fabrication machine shop. It can retrofit customer's old, oversized flange pipe with new pipe and fittings, regardless of size. The shop also features state-of-the art machinery and experienced precision machinists to ensure customers get their fabricated product within 24 hours or less.
