The Air Conditioning Contractors of America and the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Engineers announce the first public review of BSR/ASHRAE/ACCA 180 - 201x (Standard Practice for Inspection and Maintenance of Commercial Building HVAC Systems).
This industry-consensus standard details necessary inspection and maintenance for commercial HVAC systems. It includes a series of checklists for varied types of commercial HVAC systems, which specify minimum tasks to be performed and recommended corrective actions.
“ACCA and ASHRAE revised the 2012 Standard to ensure it is easier to implement,” said Don Prather, ACCA technical services manager. “We added language to help differentiate between inspection, maintenance, service and repair tasks. We also eliminated ambiguities and clarified how maintenance programs are to be initiated and implemented.”
The 45-day public review period closes on April 16. The public review process allows anyone to comment on the revised standard. The ASHRAE project committee will respond to each comment unless the committee decides to submit a revised draft for another full public review.
