Kendrick Reaves, vice president, SharkBite Team Retail and OEM Sales, was awarded World Vision’s Lifetime Achievement Award during the global humanitarian organization’s 18th Annual Crystal Vision Award Breakfast at the Rosen Centre Hotel on Jan. 10, in Orlando during Design & Construction Week.
The breakfast celebrates and honors the organization’s relationships with building material manufacturers, retailers and wholesalers who support the Storehouse.
The World Vision Storehouse network is comprised of six warehouses across the U.S. that receive corporate donations of new, top-quality goods made available to local community partners for distribution. Goods that are distributed include building materials, school supplies, personal care items, and clothing to more than 2.2 million people in low-income communities annually.
When asked why it was important to be involved, Reaves responded: “It was the right thing to do. It was an opportunity to learn a lot and get involved in something outside of work that you could apply your skills to and make a difference.”
During the event, two other awards were presented:
Jim Inglis, president at Inglis Retailing, emceed the program that featured keynote speaker Benoit Bazin, senior vice president of Saint Gobain, and president of the Construction Products Sector.
