In March, ASSE International will launch the first issue of its new magazine: Working Pressure. The quarterly magazine will be distributed in print to ASSE International members and online to the public and ASSE-certified professionals online. Working Pressure magazine replaces Backflow Prevention & Plumbing Standards (BPPS) magazine, which was discontinued in December 2017. Working Pressure will cover ASSE International’s full demographic range, which includes backflow prevention, plumbing/mechanical, water quality, HVAC, fire protection, medical gas and water utility.
Since deciding to move to a quarterly publication and online news site, ASSE International has surveyed readers and members to gain an understanding of who they are, which segments of the industry they work in, and what they want to read. Some of the regular content will include columns for product standards, professional qualifications standards, government and code updates, backflow industry updates and opinions, new products, engineering perspectives, industry news, membership news, product repair, and quarterly quizzes. Working Pressure's multiple platforms – magazine, website, and email – will provide a balance of education and entertainment to its readers.
Working Pressure will also include one to three feature articles per issue determined by what’s happening in the industry.
The quarterly issues of Working Pressure magazine will cover January-March (published in March), April-June (published in June), July-September (published in September), and October-December (published in December). The first issue’s content will be posted to www.workingpressuremag.com in March, but in the meantime, the website will feature current industry news and archived content from 2017.
Working Pressure magazine will be mailed to ASSE International members, distributed digitally via email to ASSE-certified professionals, ASSE members, and extra subscribers, and posted online
