SupplyHouse.com will team up with Little Flower Children and Family Services of New York to celebrate the holidays at the e-commerce company’s Winter Wonderland event from 2-5 p.m. EST, Dec. 29 at its headquarters in Melville, New York.
For 87 years, Little Flower has been guided by the mission to provide hope and help to thousands of people every year. In 2016 they managed the successful adoption of 52 children into new families, served 800 children in loving foster families, cared for 129 children in their Residential Treatment and Respite Centers, helped 177 children return to their own families, assisted 106 young adults to begin life on their own, provided preventative services to 18 teens in foster care, served 207 children and young adults in our Bridges to Health program, and helped 374 adults with developmental disabilities to lead more rewarding lives.
For the sixth consecutive year, SupplyHouse.com invited Little Flower to join them for a Winter Wonderland event, where the company is expected to host 33 children. SupplyHouse.com employees will be paired with a child to mentor and take them around Winter Wonderland.
"It's so rewarding and fun to be a child's mentor during our Winter Wonderland event," says Julie Costello, SupplyHouse.com Human Resources. "We get to encourage children to step out of their comfort zone and challenge themselves among their peers. It's a 'feel good' day for everyone involved."
SupplyHouse.com participates in many events throughout the year in order to give back to the community. Such events include volunteering with SCO Family of Services, Family and Children's Association, running food and toy drives, participating in Movember and more. Aside from participating in community events, the company also provides scholarship awards to a local school district on Long Island.
