Lysette Hacking from Haworth Village, Yorkshire is blazing a trail for females in the plumbing industry. Hacking is an award-winning plumber, but says she struggled to find a job in a male-dominated trade.
With the help of Fixers — an online campaign aimed at giving young people a voice — Hacking made a movie to encourage girls to consider careers in the trade industry.
She wants to level the playing field and get more women to pursue careers in construction.
“If I could pinpoint one thing I wanted to change, it would be having a 50/50 blend, so that men and women are working side-by-side and bringing their individual strengths into a trade,” she says.
