Late last year, home-improvement retailer Lowe’s said it planned to open two stores in Manhattan in the second half of 2015. Now, the first of those two urban-oriented locations has opened.
The newest Lowe’s store, at 2008 Broadway on the Upper West Side, covers 22,000 square feet of selling space, plus roughly another 10,000 square feet for storage and mechanical equipment on two separate levels. This Lowe’s presents more of a focus on services for the Manhattan customer, such as appliances, paint, and tools and supplies for remodeling, as opposed to heavier home-improvement items like lawnmowers.
