MCAA's Model Permit-Required Confined Space Program for Construction is now available. The new program, which is free to members, makes it easy and cost-effective to establish permit-required confined space programs as required by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration's new standard on Confined Spaces in Construction.
The standard requires employers, under specified circumstances, to establish written permit-required confined space programs. Suitable programs help employers protect their workers from confined space hazards and comply with OSHA's new confined spaces standard. The standard became effective on Aug. 3, and becomes enforceable on Oct. 2. This new MCAA safety resource, which can be tailored to meet members' specific needs, includes:
