The American National Standards Institute has opened registration for its World Standards Week 2017, Oct. 16-20 in Washington, D.C.

WSW is an ANSI-hosted annual event designed to inspire open dialogue about developments and challenges related to standardization and conformity assessment, highlighted in multiple speaker sessions and conferences.

This year, the week of events, which unites more than 300 departmental and agency officials, industry leaders, consumer advocates, academics, and standardization executives from across the globe, will include:

• Service Sector Conference in conjunction with SPRING Singapore
• Legal Issues Forum focused on patent policies and licensing assurances
• Joint Member Forum – Future Perfect – to explore leading tech trends and the digital transformation of standardization
• ANSI's Annual Leadership and Service Awards (see 2017 winners)
• New Member Orientation Breakfast
• U.S. Celebration of World Standards Day focused on the theme "Smart Health"
