The American National Standards Institute this year welcomed nine interns to its New York City office for its 10-week summer internship program. Launched in the mid-90s, the competitive program is structured to include numerous educational and extra-curricular activities that promote interaction and learning opportunities between the interns and full-time staff.
“ANSI internships are an exciting opportunity for students representing various academic programs to establish goals for career development and to gain insight on our always expanding standards and conformity assessment work," said S. Joe Bhatia, ANSI president and CEO. "This summer, we have an impressive and diverse group of interns who are majoring in fields ranging from computer science to policy, from competitive colleges and universities across the country.”
"I am grateful to have had the chance to work with such a professional and welcoming group of people, from whom I learned a great deal about the work ANSI does to further its mission," said Emily Marasco Daly, ANSI's public relations and communications intern. "My internship experience gave me many opportunities both to develop an understanding of the way the standards world operates and to contribute to this community."
On behalf of the entire staff, ANSI thanks its 2017 summer interns for their contributions and efforts.
Prospective interns or managers in search of staff can visit ANSI's careers page which features the latest job opportunity postings.
Additionally, ANSI members and other standardization community stakeholders are invited to send any internship opportunities to ANSI for inclusion on the page. The posting is free and it’s easy to do – just follow the brief instructions and send the internship position to pr@ansi.org.
