Fresh-Aire UV, a manufacturer of indoor air quality (IAQ) products, won the Gold product design and innovation award for its airSMART IAQ whole house air purification system in the 14th annual Dealer Design Awards (DDA) Program’s “IAQ” Category. airSMART IAQ was judged by an independent panel of HVAC contractors and competed with 80 other product design entries.
airSMART IAQ was introduced last year and is apart of the trend of “on-demand IAQ,” equipment, which automatically monitors and removes residential airborne contaminants to maintain healthy IAQ levels.
“airSMART IAQ will be invaluable for maintaining healthy residential environments as future building codes and construction techniques predictably facilitate tighter, more efficient housing that’s increasing void of fresh outdoor air,” said Chris Willette, president, Fresh-Aire UV, the inventor of the APCO air purifier, which was an international AHR Innovation Award winner at the 2011 Air-Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration (AHR) Expo.
