Zurn’s new headquarters in Milwaukee has achieved LEED Gold certification from the United States Green Building Council. Zurn plumbing products are used throughout the facility and are expected to contribute to a 45 percent reduction in water usage as compared to a building built to code.
“As a leader and a steward of water efficiency, our new facility exceeds the highest standards in water efficiency, and also acts as a showcase for our water efficient and lean construction tools,” said Sam Karge, Zurn’s vice president of sales and marketing. “In addition, the facility represents Zurn's dedication to having a minimal impact on the environment and the surrounding community.”
Designed by Eppstein Uhen Architects and constructed by C.D. Smith Construction, Inc., the new headquarters serves as a destination for Zurn customers, designers, and industry influencers from around the world. The 52,000-square-foot building, located at 511 W. Freshwater Way in Milwaukee’s Reed Street Yards, features an expansive training and customer experience center.
The building’s design emphasis was on sustainable features, including Zurn plumbing products throughout, building positioning to maximize day lighting, sustainable and local material choice, and storm water management. Other features include collaborative workspaces, a fitness center, electric vehicle charging stations and bike storage.
