WOA has created a scholarship to help a deserving member attend ASPE's 2017 Technical Symposium in Montreal on October 19-22.
The Women of ASPE (WOA), a special interest group of the American Society of Plumbing Engineers (ASPE), is offering a scholarship to help a deserving member attend ASPE’s 2017 Technical Symposium in Montreal, Quebec, October 19-22, to promote the importance of fostering the growth and professional development of women in the field of engineering.
To be eligible, an applicant must be a female ASPE member either enrolled in an engineering program at a college/university, or employed in the engineering field with less than five years of work experience, as well as have a valid passport. The application and more information can be found here, and the deadline to apply is June 30.
The scholarship will cover expenses up to $2,500, which includes a one-year membership renewal, full registration to the Symposium and any special events, roundtrip airfare, hotel accommodations, airport transportation and meals.
Each candidate will be required to fill out the application and write a 500-word essay explaining why they would like to attend the Symposium, and what they hope to accomplish by participating in the event. If you are a student candidate, you must submit a copy of your transcripts.
The deadline to submit the application is June 30. The Women of ASPE Committee will review all applications and will make their final determination on July 6. The recipient will be notified on July 7.
