Mike Clingenpeel of HD Supply Waterworks is the 2016 recipient of the Tennessee Association of Utility Districts’ Associate Member Wall of Fame award. Clingenpeel accepted this award at the association's Business of Running a Utility Conference at the Gatlinburg Convention Center in August.

Implemented in 2009, TAUD's Awards Committee created the award to honor associate members who have dedicated their careers to the betterment of Tennessee’s utilities and its operators.

"Mike is one of TAUD's greatest supporters" said TAUD Executive Director Bob Freudenthal. "We are a better association because of Mike and his contributions to our association. He is a great example of a leader in this industry and I'm proud to call him a colleague and friend."

Clingenpeel serves as HD Supply Waterworks’ district manager for Tennessee. HD Supply Waterworks has been an active TAUD member since 1991 and is a Diamond Superbooster Sponsor.

Clingenpeel has been very active within TAUD, serving as associate advisor, chairman of the Golf Committee and a board member of the Tennessee Utility Education Committee. Clingenpeel was named Associate Member of the Year in 2013. His vision for the association’s golf tournament has allowed TAUD to make sizable donations each year to the Tennessee Utility Political Action Committee, acting as the PAC's largest annual fundraiser.

His strong self-driven competitive nature, complemented by his dedication to take care of his business and team by ‘doing the right thing,’ makes him perfectly suited to receive this honor, for his personal efforts in the betterment of our industry and our business.”

Clingenpeel has been with HD Supply Waterworks since 1991, starting as an outside sales representative and was then promoted to district manager. He is also a four-time winner of the company’s Mark of Excellence, a biennial award recognizing top performers across the country.
