HARDI member Midwest Tool, a producer of metal cutting snips and specialty hand tools, has started a program to support Homes for Our Troops, the Massachusetts-based organization that provides mortgage-free, specially-adapted homes nationwide to severely injured post-9/11 veterans, to enable them to rebuild their lives.
“At last year’s HARDI Annual Conference, I was so moved by HFOT home recipient Bobby Withers and the story of his life-changing injury that I knew Midwest Tool had to do something,” said Chuck Loparo, national sales manager for Midwest Tool.
Through the program, Midwest Tool will donate $2 to HFOT for every set of commemorative snips sold through Veterans Day, Nov. 11. The commemorative snips are limited edition of the company’s two top-selling tools.
“Whether it’s a manufacturer who serves a specific segment of the industry or a distributor who carries specialized inventory, programs like these are great ways for all HARDI members to contribute,” said HARDI CEO Talbot Gee. “I’m thrilled that Chuck and the rest of the leadership at Midwest Tool are taking this initiative and leading the charge for this worthwhile cause.”
The program follows the announcement of HARDI’s partnership with HFOT wherein HARDI distributors will procure the heating and cooling equipment and installation for 100 new homes for veterans over the next three years.
