According to Habitat for Humanity of Orange County, building five affordable homes this summer in Santa Ana, Calif. is no small feat, especially with regard to the affordability aspect.
Luckily, Habitat OC is well experienced to this end and recently seized the opportunity to present its vision for this summer’s project at the Pacific Southwest Distributors Association conference held in Indian Wells, Calif.
“We are always thrilled to share our mission with visionary and generous partners who want to support their community,” said Sharon Ellis, president/CEO of Habitat OC.
In addition to providing the project overview at the invitation of Keyline Sales and Fluidmaster, Inc., Habitat OC also successfully solicited financial support through product donations from conference attendees. PSDA members were asked to donate all of the plumbing, HVAC, and gas materials for the five Habitat OC homes in Santa Ana with companies, including Fluidmaster, Delta and Weld-On providing numerous product donations.
“Our PSDA members were looking for a way to become more involved in the community,” said Tom Morrow, president of PSDA. “Supporting Habitat OC gives us a chance to make a difference in the world and to partner with an organization that shares our belief in hard work.”
Construction on the homes are to begin this summer.
“Habitat OC is ecstatic with the results from the presentation at the PSDA conference,” concluded Habitat OC’s Ellis. “These product donations, combined with support from our tremendous volunteer work crews, will really help cut our project costs this summer.”
