Fresh-Aire UV, a division of Triatomic Environmental Inc., Jupiter, Fla., the largest manufacturer of UVC and PCO/activated carbon indoor air quality (IAQ) products in North America, has named ultraviolet (UV) light and IAQ industry executive leader, Aaron Engel as vice president of business development.   

Engel has 16-years of engineering, design, sales and marketing experience as a former vice president of marketing and communications for UV light system manufacturer, Sanuvox Technologies Inc., Montreal. Engel will concentrate on Fresh-Aire UV's global expansion, bolster the 27-year-old company's presence in HVAC, healthcare, industrial, military markets, and lead the firm into new industries. He will work closely with Fresh-Aire UV's engineering, sales and marketing departments. "We are excited to bring onboard a UV industry leader such as Aaron," said Ron Saunders, vice president, Fresh-Aire UV. "His territory will be the world."

He will also oversee the Canadian market from a Montreal office and collaborate with Fresh-Aire UV's Canadian manufacturer's representative, Air Force 1 Sales & Marketing Ltd., Toronto.

Prior to joining Sanuvox in 1999, Engel facilitated international sales for an HVAC software company after receiving a bachelor's degree from Concordia University and a marketing/communications degree from McGill University. Engel pioneered sales and marketing techniques that were new and innovative to the then fledgling IAQ/UV market and later became promotional role models many companies still emulate today. Engel was also responsible for introducing UV disinfection and IAQ to many peripheral industries such as food, meat and produce sterilization; restaurant and odor exhaust applications; hospital surface disinfection and many other specialty applications.

Engel will also be instrumental in expanding the business model from HVAC air and coil sterilization to UV surface sanitation disinfection, which coincides with Fresh-Aire UV's recent Environmental Surface Disinfection System (ESDS) product introduction.
