Website www.atlasobsurca.com has an interesting history of the Jacuzzi family dating back to 1886 when Giovanni and Teresa Jacuzzi were married and eventually had 13 children.
After immigrating to California, eldest son, Rachele, began working as a mechanic in the garage of James Smith McDonell, who would go on to found aerospace giant, McDonnell Douglas.
Rachele went on to design a propeller called the Jacuzzi Toothpick Propeller, the family’s first real success. Later came the ill-fated flight of the Jacuzzi J-7, the first plane ever designed with an enclosed cabin.
