Huntington Beach, Calif. – The Los Angeles area’s most elite designers honored California Faucets by selecting its faucets and shower fittings for five distinctly different bathroom designs in the 2015 Pasadena Showcase House of Design. The event has been held annually in Pasadena, California since 1965 to support the local efforts of a diverse list of nonprofit organizations in the community. The showcase house features the most innovative design concepts, products and technologies available for today’s elegant homes as conceived by leading ASID-affiliated designers.
The Carriage House Executive Bathroom, The Master Suite, Young Girl’s Suite, Young Man’s Suite and Powder Room incorporated California Faucets bath fittings and accessories. The California Faucets products used in these spaces were sourced through local showroom George’s Pipe & Plumbing Supply Company of Pasadena.
“I wanted the main house master bath to possess all of the functionality of a modern bathroom, yet feel as if it could have been original to the house—a 1910 craftsman—in terms of finishes, textures and fixtures,” said Joshua Cain, principal interior designer of Saxony Design Build in Los Angeles. Cain specified California Faucets’ Humboldt 67 Series faucets in Mocha Bronze for the lavatory and shower areas.
“I wanted warm, earthy colors, durable finishes and a lot of charm. California Faucets is just that when it comes to plumbing,” Cain said. “The finishes are so varied that I can always get what I want.”
In the Carriage House Executive Bath, designer Stephanie Leese with L2 Interiors in Los Angeles describes the overall design vision as “warm masculine.” The designer and her team used dark colors and rich textures, such as snakeskin wallpaper and leather-textured countertops, incorporating California Faucets’ 17 Series lavatory faucets and Balboa 15 Series tub filler, all in Lifetime Polished Gold (PVD).
“With a company such as California Faucets, which offers so much customization, we were able to select decorative hardware that helped highlight the space. The polished gold faucets incorporated a feminine element that really ‘popped,’” Leese said.
Leese’s design also reflects a classic look appropriate for the historic home, while using the very latest in bath and shower technology. In addition to a StyleTherm Thermostatic System, the Carriage House Executive Bath includes ZeroDrain, the world’s first “pop-down” lavatory drain, and CeraLine, a custom tile channel drain in Blackened Stainless Steel (PVD).
“As a designer, it’s hard to know all of the little details about every component of our design, so we rely on specialists in each field. Everyone at George’s Pipe & Plumbing Supply Company knows and understands so much more about their products than the average showroom and plumbing warehouse,” said Cain about the Pasadena business that’s been family owned and operated since 1956.
Leese added, “Everyone was very thorough in helping us select just the right pieces, and all of the options and colors were right there in the showroom to choose from. It definitely made specifying the products so much easier.”
Besides Cain and Leese’s spaces, three additional bathrooms in the showcase house feature California Faucets fittings and accessories:
The Young Girl’s Suite, designed by Gail Sedigh of AFK Fine Furniture for Children in Rancho Santa Margarita, California features the Topanga 8″ widespread lavatory faucet, Balboa floor-mount tub filler, multi-series 30″ towel bar, multi-series two post toilet paper holder and multi-series towel ring, all in Polished Brass.
In the Young Man’s Suite, Nancy Del Santo of Concept Builders in Monrovia, California specified California Faucets 17 Series widespread faucet, exclusive to George’s Pipe & Plumbing Supply Company. In addition, Del Santo chose StyleTherm thermostatic shower and fittings, Neo StyleDrain, 8″ contemporary “thin-line” self-cleaning showerhead, contemporary handshower, Venice 47 Series towel bars, and multi-series single post toilet paper holder/hand towel holder. All California Faucets fixtures are featured in Polished Nickel.
Finally, designer of the Formal Powder Room Fayley Patrice of Complete Interior Design in Beverly Hills incorporated the Monterey 46 Series Art Deco Collection widespread lavatory faucet, Venice towel bar and multi-series toilet paper and hand towel holders, all in Polished Nickel.
