The Kansas City Business Journal reported on July 1 that Susan Prophet was sentenced to 22 years and ordered to pay restitution for bank fraud and embezzlement of $730,000 from two Kansas City businesses, including Dorfman Plumbing Supply.
Prophet was found guilty of embezzling more than $543,000 from Dorfman, which came to light as the business was being sold to Ferguson Enterprises.
Prophet was fired from Dorfman, but her crime spree continued to her next job at North Point Skilled Nursing, which she took under a different name. She was found guilty of embezzling at least $188,460 from that company.
Prosecutors also found evidence of theft at employers prior to Dorfman.
