Toronto, Ontario – At the 83rd Annual General Meeting of the Canadian Institute of Plumbing & Heating held on June 16th in Quebec City, Siân Smith, senior director, Procurement & Pricing, Noble Corp. was elected as the 2015/2016 board chair of CIPH.
Smith began her career in the industry in 1999 joining Emco Corporation in London, Ontario. In 2007 she was named VP Procurement and in 2013, she joined Noble as senior director, Procurement & Pricing.
She has been an active contributor on the CIPH Board of Directors since 2009 serving as Chair of the Membership Committee and as chair of the successful “Elevating our Passion” Annual Conference held in 2014 in Kelowna, BC.
Smith grew up in a family that was very involved in sports and met her husband Pete when they were members of the swim team at the University of Western Ontario. Over the past few years, she has taken up cycling and completed the 200+ km. “Ride to Conquer Cancer” the last two years as a member of the “Noble Plungerheads” team, as well as the Ride for Heart & Stroke this past May.
Smith is the first female chair of CIPH and also holds the distinction of being the youngest board chair of the Institute.
