ROCHESTER, NY – VP Supply continues to add to its size, reach and renowned expertise through recent acquisitions of two central New York companies. Greater Binghamton’s Tri-Bro Kitchen & Bath Supply and Auburn’s United Fasteners have become local branches of VP Supply, serving both contractor and retail customers in their respective areas.
Tri-Bro Kitchen & Bath Supply, with locations in Vestal and Norwich, was acquired in December of 2014 and is now known as Tri-Bro Supply, a Division of VP Supply Corp. The Vestal location offers products and services for plumbing, HVAC, kitchen and bath projects. Similar to VP Supply’s Innovations showrooms, the Vestal location also features a retail showroom with full project design services. The Norwich location offers products for plumbing and heating needs.
The United Fasteners acquisition was completed in October of 2014. The Auburn company with one location provides hardware supplies such as nuts, bolts, screws and paints.
The three new branches expand an existing footprint of thirteen VP Supply branches and eight Innovations showrooms that are located across New York State and western Pennsylvania. The addition of staff members increases VP Supply’s total employee count to 312. The acquisitions bring complementary offerings to VP Supply’s range of plumbing, HVAC, kitchen, bath and renewable energy products and services. Like all VP supply locations, the new branches are backed by the company’s 80,000 square-foot Rochester warehouse and increased buying leverage.
Established in 1965, VP Supply’s most recent growth means increased service to its customers in the Greater Binghamton and Auburn areas. As VP Supply Vice President Gary Perkins shares, “We liked how the Tri-Bro and United Fasteners businesses were operated, and we knew there was a good match in organizational values. Tri-Bro’s products and services mesh nicely with VP Supply’s offerings, and give us two physical locations to better serve our existing customers in those areas.” Gary continues, “And by bringing United Fasteners on-board, we’re better able to serve our Auburn contractor base with an expanded product offering.”
Tri-Bro's previous CEO Rhonda McConnell has become a regional director at VP Supply, overseeing the Southern Tier Region. The Vestal branch’s day-to-day operations will be managed by Terry Cole, while Kitchen Designer Sandra Hardenstine will manage the showroom. The Norwich branch will be managed by William Blackman. VP Supply’s Auburn manager Cathy Schultz will manage the branch formed by the United Fasteners acquisition.
