Newark, N.J. parents filed a federal lawsuit May 3 against New Jersey’s largest school district over lead found in the drinking water.
The parents of four children allege that the district deliberately exposed children to harmful levels of lead, which has been known to disrupt child development. The lawsuit is seeking class action-status
Elevated lead levels has forced the district to shut off water fountains at half of its buildings.
