Throughout the rest of 2024, PHCPPros will be rolling out a series of spotlights on our team members who make our company possible. In our latest spotlight, we invite you to meet Nicole Meyer, Digital Strategy and Business Development Manager!
How did you enter the PHCP industry?
I stumbled upon it! I was looking for a marketing position and came across a job listing at PHCPPros. I majored in strategic communication and journalism in college, so I thought the opportunity to work in a marketing capacity for a publishing company was a perfect fit! Although I didn't have experience in the PHCP world, I believe a great marketer should be able to understand and reach any audience and was ready to jump right in.
What are your responsibilities in your role at PHCPPros?
One of the things I love about my role is how varied it is! As digital strategy manager, I head PHCPPros' social strategy, which also includes writing copy, creating graphics, scheduling content and analyzing analytics for our social platforms. I also work with our advertising clients to create custom campaigns that PHCPPros shares on our social channels. Additionally, I produce our podcasts, write special magazine features, send out monthly e-newsletters, design print ads and marketing collateral, coordinate special events for trade shows, and update our website when needed.
Over the past year, I have led the charge on PROS REPS, our rep agency specifically for influencers in the trades. As business development manager for the agency, I assist in outreach both to influencers we think would be great fits for our agency and to manufacturers we feel could benefit from brand ambassador partnerships. In addition to managing our ambassadors' social media partnerships, I craft custom proposals and pitch authentic, strategic influencer campaigns to manufacturers. Once a campaign kicks off, I enter the role of project manager and ensure everything runs smoothly between our influencers and the manufacturers they're promoting.
What do you like most about working in our industry?
I love how laidback the people are despite how essential the work they're doing is! Before I worked in this industry, I'd be lying if I said I thought about plumbing and heating on a daily basis. I have gained such an appreciation for everyone in this industry who works to keep the world going round.
What are your favorite hobbies or interests outside of work?
I enjoy eating at new restaurants, going to concerts and comedy shows, and spending too much money on thrifted art and vintage home goods.
What is the best piece of advice someone has given to you that you would pass onto others?
It's not really advice per se, but I have always liked the quote "Comparison is the thief of joy." There's no reason to undermine your own happiness by focusing on what others are doing. You do you!
