Ben Hantz, technology advisor for Valero Energy Corporation, has been elected to the PVF Roundtable Board of Directors. Hantz joins the board with over 30 years’ experience in the industry where his current role focuses on leadership for Valero’s Fixed Equipment Mechanical Reliability. This role includes assessing integrity for pressure equipment as well as stewarding corporate procedures and standards, supporting major capital projects, and maintaining accepted manufacturer’s list.
“Ben’s unique perspective and expertise will be a valuable asset to our team, and we are thrilled to welcome him to the board," said Sara Alford, president of the PVF Roundtable.
Hantz is an ASME Fellow, who participates in many ASME & API standards committees as well as other industry initiatives.
“I feel it is time for Valero to give back to our community and serving as a PVF Board Member would allow us to do just that and it will also enable me to be more accessible to the industry,” Hantz stated.
Hantz is open-minded to the advancement of technology while at the same time cautious enough to understand where to draw the line between fresh ideas and more traditional technology.
With this knowledge, he will provide guidance to the PVF Board and the PVF Young Professionals Committee with ideas about educational possibilities, making him a perfect fit for PVF's mission: Educating future leaders, one scholarship donation at a time.
