Watts has announced new Smart & Connected Wi-Fi Freeze Alert kits for backflow preventers or any other equipment that is at risk of freezing. Users can now receive alerts via Wi-Fi or connect to irrigation controllers with temperature inputs, as well as building management systems (BMS), using the built-in switched output. The kits are ready to connect to previously installed Watts or FEBCO pressure vacuum breakers and double check valve backflow preventers with existing temperature sensors, or any other backflow preventers using the included sensors.The standalone sensors are designed to monitor temperature variations and send alerts through Wi-Fi when specific freeze conditions are met. They offers simple connectivity using the switched output, eliminating the need for any communication protocol for BMS.
