A Return To the Classics
Just as the world of film and TV reveres nostalgia, there is high demand for a return to beloved classics in plumbing fixtures. Many homeowners and interior designers want to incorporate traditional fixtures into their contemporary spaces to create a unique and eclectic look. From clawfoot tubs to wooden toilet seats, clients are revisiting vintage styles to celebrate the beauty of ornate and intricate fixtures and, most importantly, the nostalgia these elements evoke.
A classic that has been popular lately? Barber Wilson’s Regent Collection. It’s a blend of timeless elegance and modern standards of quality and design. If you want to add a touch of classic indulgence to your home, consider incorporating some vintage-style plumbing fixtures into your design.
Playing With Form
While traditional vanities still have their applications, for designers and homeowners looking for show-stopping bathroom details, freestanding tubs offer an opportunity to get creative with shape and texture. In contrast to traditional rectangular bathtub shapes, companies like Americh and Bain Ultra are introducing soft and futuristic curves to their products and boundless options to fully customize tubs with all the necessary features and gadgets to make bathtime a spa-like experience.
A quick look at Americh’s Sawyer freestanding oval tub is only a taste of how creative, glamorous and out-of-the-box modern tubs can get. Customers choosing Americh love the many available accessories such as chromatherapy lights, jets and gel pillows. If you’re looking for organic and flowing forms for your piece de resistance, consider a freestanding tub with plenty of character.
Aging Like Fine Wine
Living metal finishes have become increasingly popular in recent years, but what’s surprising is that we’re seeing them more and more in kitchens and bathrooms. These finishes are designed to age and patina naturally over time, creating a unique and beautiful look. One of the most popular living metal finishes for plumbing we’ve seen lately is unlacquered brass.
By celebrating aging finishes, customers and designers alike are embracing the fluidity and unpredictability of living metals as well as the one-of-a-kind looks that change with time. A great example is on display in our very own showroom.
Pictured, you’ll see the Storm Shower collection by Rocky Mountain Hardware in a living bronze finish. Notice the gorgeous wear left behind by our customers and employees through months of showcasing and touching the fixture. In a way, they’ve left behind an imprint, adding to the history of our showroom — and it’s only going to look better with time.
Bespoke Color Combinations
When it comes to bathroom fixtures, color is one of the most powerful tools at a designer’s disposal to add balance, focus and charm to a project. And why limit yourself to pops of color in accessories such as towels, rugs or shower curtains when you can choose one of Rubinet’s fantastic bold finishes for your bathroom trims?
Using bold colors can be a great way to add personality and style to an otherwise neutral space. Instead of sticking to traditional white or chrome fixtures, incorporating bold hues like navy blue, forest green or even bright pink can make a statement and add a pop of color to your bathroom.
This creativity extends to kitchens as well. Rubinet makes it easy to add accent touches to your space, going beyond bold colors and offering mix-and-match finishes as well as patterns to break up the monotony.
Luxury Products Group
Although the Luxury Products Group (LPG) has doubled in size since 2017, the group is still a close-knit family. As part of LPG, Kurrent founder and CEO Jack Bernstein has found it an amazing opportunity to network with peers in the industry.
Jeff MacDowell, executive director of LPG, is a wonderful resource. The entire group helps us access information on up-and-coming trends, as well as new and interesting ideas for elevating the luxury shopping experience for our customers. We’re extremely excited about all that’s coming to LPG this year: an expansion in hardware and lighting, a design division, and collaborations with the National Kitchen and Bath Association, the American Society of Interior Designers and the American Lighting Association.
