A-Gas, a global leader in the supply and lifecycle management of refrigerants and associated products and services, announces Andrew Stride will serve as director of operations for its new facility outside of Hamilton, Ontario.
Stride is a licensed professional engineer with over a decade of engineering experience. He joined A-Gas in the fall of 2021 as an engineering manager.
Now, Stride will bring his experience from one of A-Gas’ industry-leading facilities to build and grow A-Gas’ newest facility in Ontario to help Canadians more effectively manage the lifecycle of their refrigerants.
“We could not be more excited for Andrew to take on this role and bring A-Gas’ global best practices to our new site in Ontario,” noted Mike Armstrong, managing director and president, A-Gas in the Americas.
Jim Flowers, commercial director, A-Gas in Canada added, “Hiring Canadians local to the Greater Toronto Area is of great importance to all of us, and having Andrew on board as we grow our team in Ontario will enable us to build on the best-in-class processes and management already established at other A-Gas sites in the Americas. Andrew’s expertise will allow us to deliver greater value for our customers, faster.”
Prior to joining A-Gas, Stride held technical, design, field, and project engineering roles at organizations including Matheson, Air Liquide, and Baker Hughes. In addition to his professional engineering certification, Stride holds an MBA from the Texas McCombs School of Business, a Master of Engineering from Texas A&M University, a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington, and a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
“My family and I have been blown away by the beauty of Ontario – from the lakeside sunsets to the warmth and welcoming nature of Canadians. I look forward to assisting businesses across Canada enhance their refrigerant management plans to build a more sustainable future,” Strid said.
Once complete, the A-Gas site in Ontario will have the capability to process and clean recovered refrigerant from the local market. Used refrigerant sent to the facility will undergo chemical analysis at the onsite laboratory and will be reclaimed to AHRI-700 standards. As a result, A-Gas will provide the Canadian market with high-speed refrigerant recovery; quality refrigerant supply; a unique, cost-effective refrigerant reclaim program; and on-site laboratory and analytical services.
