In honor of American Heart Month this February, APR Supply Co. has taken a meaningful step to prepare for cardiac emergencies by accepting the AED (Automated External Defibrillator) Challenge from Charney Investment Group. This initiative encourages businesses to provide life-saving AED devices and CPR training for their locations.
As part of the challenge, APR Supply Co. has committed to purchasing a new AED unit through a donation to the Peyton Walker Foundation. The company will install this AED device at their wholesale distribution branch in Cherry Hill, New Jersey and will also enroll branch staff in CPR/AED administration training.
The Peyton Walker Foundation, which promotes heart safety and sudden cardiac arrest awareness, was created in memory of a 19-year-old who tragically passed away from an unexpected cardiac event in 2013.
Scott Weaver, president and CEO of APR Supply Co., commented on the company's participation: "Ensuring emergency preparedness and staff safety is extremely important to us. We are honored to accept this AED Challenge and partner with the Peyton Walker Foundation to implement expanded medical emergency protocols, including additional AED units and ongoing training courses for our employees, customers, and communities."
APR Supply Co.'s procurement and installation of the AED device and staff training will commence immediately, in an effort to increase chance of survival during a cardiac crisis event. This proactive safety approach exemplifies APR Supply Co.'s steadfast commitment to safeguarding team members as well as demonstrated leadership in community health improvement initiatives.
