Eastern Industrial Supplies is inviting golfers to register for the tenth annual Eastern Cares Charity Classic golf tournament to benefit the Daily Bread Life Children's Home in Tanzania, Africa. The tournament will take place on Monday, Oct. 16, at Smithfields Country Club, located at 100 Pine Ridge Road in Easley, S.C. The cost to register is $175 per person and $700 for a team of four. On Oct. 16, player check-in and the driving range will open at 11 a.m. Lunch will be served at noon. The captain's choice tournament will begin with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. The event will conclude with dinner and prizes awarded to first, second, and third place teams, and prizes for longest drive and closest to the pin.
Eastern is also seeking sponsors for the event. Sponsorship tiers range from $350 to $10,000. Sponsorships are open to companies, groups, families, and individuals. Email or call Mary Jean Rackley at 864-284-3953 to learn more.
In 2006, Eastern Cares partnered with Teleios Ministries and Mpeli and Neema Mwaisambe to open the Daily Bread Life Children's Home in Iringa, Tanzania, bringing Eastern's President and CEO, Kip Miller, and wife, Kim Miller's dream of building an orphanage to life. DBLCH has since provided a loving home and an education to more than 130 children, DBLCH has also helped launch seven businesses that provide more than four dozen jobs, as well as goods and services to the village.
