We are excited to announce the addition of this page to our website. The PVF Roundtable's mission is, in part, to prepare for the future of our industry. Traditionally we have done this by providing scholarship donations to students in PVF-related fields, but in early 2022 the Roundtable decided to develop a program that introduces our scholarship recipients back into our PVF family. We feel this new tool will help complete the cycle from donation to scholarship, to employment.
We are exploring several methods to promote this such as internships, apprenticeship programs, as well as ready-to-hire. The PVF Roundtable is committed to developing pathways for these students to build their careers within the PVF industry. This tool will also give PVF Roundtable members a centralized resource to promote job openings and a direct line to potential candidates. Initially, we have started with Houston Community College. Alberto Urbina, dean of material sciences and smart manufacturing, instantly expressed interest in supporting the project. Our web page provides a link to HCC's career hub, giving access to students, as well as a "How to Video" on navigating site.
We are in discussions now to bring the balance of our vocational schools to this page, San Jacinto College, Lee College, and ABC Training Center / Pelican Chapter. Our intent is to give all our Scholarship Schools the same channel to you, our PVF Roundtable community.
If your company is searching for strong candidates to add to your team, start by contacting one of our educational partners on the Careers Page tab at pvfroundtable.org. This will grant you access to recent graduates who are ready for a challenging and rewarding career in the PVF market. Employers can post internships and jobs in the HCC CareerHub and link their posting to an Applicant Tracking System or opt to receive resumes directly whenever a student applies to the posting. Resumes of current students or recent graduates can be requested by employers with access to CareerHub, On-the-Spot Interviews, and recruiting booths inside HCC CareerHub.
