When installed in-line downstream of a pump, Chemline’s SB12 Series Back Pressure/Relief Valve functions as a back pressure valve. When installed in the branch of a tee, it acts as a pressure relief valve. Inlet pressure acts upward against the piston allowing excess pressure to flow upwards through the orifice. After setting, the pressure to open does not change even if back pressure fluctuates. The valve features low hysteresis and low pressure to fully open. It is designed to hold back pressure long term. The SB12 Series also has a built-in check valve function that prevents reverse flow. It does not open with every pulsation from a metering pump, so it is ideal for dosing applications. It is designed for clean fluids only.
