With the high shortage of blue-collar jobs in 2023, one San Diegan is doing something different to help by providing complimentary skills training for aspiring plumbers. Edy Cartagena, a young 23-year-old founder and CEO of E-Drains has developed a free online course to teach college students, and unemployed individuals and is live on Teachable, Friday, Feb. 24, 2023.

Students can email: edrainscourse@gmail.com in order to be enrolled at no charge.
Cartagena was inspired by living the American dream as an immigrant. He came to San Diego from Honduras in 2017 and launched his plumbing business E-Drains and was overwhelmed by the demand for plumbing jobs. He was inspired by the words of Maya Angelou, "When you learn, teach, when you get, give." Cartagena says that there are plenty of plumbing and drain jobs available, and not enough plumbers, so he wants to empower the next generation by providing this free online course.
"Living in Honduras, I had nothing and always wanted to come to America. I wanted an opportunity for me and my family and now, I want to be able to provide that opportunity for others. With the power of the Internet, I can help anyone in the world for free," Cartagena said.
Cartagena is free to provide a demonstration of the top five ways to easily unclog your drains with these methods. Edy Cartagena and his students are available for interviews at any time.
