NIBCO’s Wrot Racer
Did you happen to see NIBCO’s Wrot Racer Corvette on display at this year’s AHR Expo? We certainly couldn’t miss it since it was parked directly across from our booth.
While not a training vehicle like the others highlighted in our main feature, we think it’s worthwhile to call attention to an eye-catching promotional vehicle that’s been traveling around the country ever since the AHR Expo to celebrate the company’s next generation of push fittings.
NIBCO had a black Corvette C8 customized by West Coast Customs with copper elements to mimic the look of its Wrot Racer fittings, manufactured in Stuarts Draft, Va., from globally sourced pure copper.
The exterior customization includes the following:
Inside, custom copper accents can be found on the dashboard, doors and center console. Finally, custom headrests are embroidered with the NIBCO logo.
For gear heads, the Corvette’s engine is a 6.2-liter, V-8 producing 495 hp and 470 lb-ft torque. The car can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 2.8 seconds.
The last we heard from NIBCO, the Wrot Racer was in Texas last May before moving on to the Midwest in June. From there, it will travel through the Northeast and Southeast through September, with plans to make stops in Indianapolis for the ASPE Convention & Expo, Sept. 16-21 and then on to Charlotte, N.C. for PHCCCONNECT2022, Oct. 5-7.
Introduced in 2021, Wrot Racer push fittings are a line of premium copper push fittings that are engineered to join copper, CPVC-CTS, PEX and PE-RT (with stiffeners) for easy transition between piping systems.
