3M and Elkay are teaming up again to provide complimentary refillable water bottles and filtered water for attendees of the upcoming 3M Open, an official PGA TOUR event that takes place July 18-24 at TPC Twin Cities in Blaine.
In its second consecutive year participating in the 3M Open, Elkay will provide two Elkay ezH20 contactless water bottle filling stations — the same award-winning ezH2O water bottle filling station design that provides easy and efficient hydration options in many airports, schools, offices and gyms — at the 3M Hydration Station, located in the Fan Village. These types of filtration systems have helped make Elkay a trusted leader in water delivery since the 1960s.
“For over 100 years, Elkay has been dedicated to giving back to the communities in which we live, work, and play. We are proud to continue sponsoring the 3M Open and to donate our ezH2O Bottle Filling Stations to provide fresh, filtered water in a smart and efficient way,” said Ted Hamilton, president of Plumbing Operations at Zurn Elkay Water Solutions.
The water in the Elkay water bottle filling stations will be filtered by the 3M Under Sink Full Flow Water Filter System 3MFF100, which reduces particulate, chlorine taste and odor, cysts, lead and select VOCs to give event attendees cleaner, clearer and better tasting drinking water. 3M offers a full line of drinking water filters, reverse osmosis systems and whole house water filters.
Following the 3M Open, 3M and Elkay will reinforce the event’s Golf That Matters community support theme by donating the event’s drinking water systems to Stepping Stone, an organization that provides shelter, unique programming and support to adults experiencing homelessness.
“Building a strong community partnership with the 3M Open is vital to Stepping Stone as we work toward ending homelessness. Over the years, the 3M Open has supported us financially. This year they’re taking an extra step and have partnered with Elkay to donate hydration stations to our facility,” said Stepping Stone Executive Director Julie Jeppson. “Generous donations like this help us by removing the burden of having to purchase expensive equipment. This specific donation has an even more valuable impact on our residents by providing them with peace of mind during an unimaginably stressful time and addressing their basic needs of convenient access to better tasting, cleaner drinking water which they wouldn’t otherwise have.”
The 3M Open hydration station systems will be donated to Stepping Stone’s emergency housing location in Anoka, Minn.
“I’m so proud that 3M is again partnering with Elkay to help 3M Open attendees cool off and remain hydrated with filtered water. I’m also pleased these water filtering systems will be donated to Stepping Stone after the event and will continue to benefit community members who need our support,” said Sean McAfee, director of 3M’s Separation and Purification Science Division in the U.S. and Canada.
