Operating in Florida for 55 years, Carr Company celebrated record success in 2021 despite continuing supply chain challenges, hurricanes, viruses and variants. The manufacturers’ representative posted an astonishing 15,136 sales calls by their outside sales team — a new company record.
“We congratulate our outside sales team for their extraordinary work,” said Michael Hobbs, president. “These sales calls were intentional and planned. They were more than just calls — they were 15,136 opportunities to build demand for our manufacturers and develop deep relationships.”
Carr Company balances relationship-based selling with robust data analysis. The 15,136 calls were strategically broken down by number of calls per manufacturer, customer and customer type, i.e. distributor, contractor, engineer, builder, architect. Carr Company leverages data and a robust CRM package to identify trends and improve sales team effectiveness, directly resulting in market share growth for their manufacturers.
Carr Company also celebrated success with the first annual George Carr Award. Named for the company’s founder, the award is given to a Carr Company associate who exemplifies George Carr’s passion for taking care of manufacturers, customers and fellow team members. Jim Smith, inside sales manager, received the inaugural award.
“George Carr was an entrepreneur at heart and had a tremendous passion for taking care of his manufacturers and customers,” Hobbs said. "He would be gone for weeks at a time, covering the Midwest and Midsouth for his manufacturers, visiting customers and sometimes even staying in their homes. He developed deep relationships on these trips and looked for unique ways to add value, always putting the customer first. The George Carr Award was given to Jim Smith for his passion in taking care of the customer and the manufacturer. He is tireless in his efforts to make Carr Company the best rep in Florida.”
